Welcome to the XVIIIth Convention of the AICEIA

Posted by Secretary General on 6/20/2014 12:43:00 AM with No comments

Dear Comrades,

Eagerly waiting to see you all at the Convention to be held in Trivandrum on the 27th and 28th of this month.
In spite of repeated reminders by the SG, some units have not complied so far with the procedural requirements for effective participation in the Convention. I would once again request all the Circles/Branches to immediately send the required data in the proper format, the DDO Certificates and clear all the subscription dues to ensure the conduct of the Convention and the Election of the new Committee process in a smooth manner.

Moreover, in order to avoid repetitions and in order to have a healthy discussion on vital topics, all Circles are requested to submit a write up of their resolutions well in advance. A very important issue to be decided by the Convention is the Memorandum to be submitted by AICEIA to the 7th CPC. We will exactly have 30 days to submit the Memorandum after the Convention since 30.7.2014 is the last date for such submission. The work in this regard should start seriously from Trivandrum itself.Branches/Circles are requested to take up this issue at their Branch/Circle level and submit a write up to the Convention giving their respective recommendations/ suggestions. We also hope to have some experienced speakers who have served AICEIA in the past sharing their experiences, throwing light on important issues and interacting with us on the morning of 28.06.14.

May I also take this opportunity to inform that the AICEIA has very effectively taken up the issue of regional diparities in promotions of Inspectors of Central Excise with the new Ministry at the Centre .

Placed below is the Invitation from the host Unit, Kerala Circle, for the XVIIIth Convention, which will begin at 10.00 AM on 27.06.2014

Hope to have a Grand Convention.

A.Satish
President

We are happy and feel honoured to have been given the opportunity to host the National Convention. Hope this convention will provide a better platform to discuss all issues affecting our cadre including that of the ongoing Cadre Restructuring, proposals with regard to All India Seniority etc. Let all of us strive to find out the best possible solutions for all our concerns with a focused mind and mite. On behalf of the Kerala circle I once again wish all the delegates a meaningful convention.

As you all know, Trivandrum or Thiruvananthapuram is the State Capital of Kerala- ‘The God’s Own Country’. It is also a good tourist attraction place with its scenic beauty, beaches, museum, zoo, Sri Padmanabha swamy temple etc. Moreover, being the rainy season, Monsoon tourism is also in the swing. Needless to say, we found it difficult to locate a decent convention venue with accommodation facilities for all the delegates. Hence the expected expenses of the convention is bit high. In view of this it has been decided to fix the delegate fee as Rs 1500/- per day per delegate (Rs.3000/- in total).

The organizing committee has arranged accommodation from the evening of 26.06.2014 to the evening of 28.06. 2014. Food package starts with the dinner on 26.06.14 and ends with evening tea on 28.06.2014. Anyone desirous of staying beyond this may extend their stay (before or after) at a specially discounted rate of Rs. 3500/- per day on twin sharing basis. (Hotels with lesser tariff will also be available around the venue). Rainy season could be at its peak during the period and hence those who wish to plan for an outing, please come prepared.

The participating delegates are requested to contact the accommodation conveners for any assistance.

1. Shri Prabodh Mobile No:9995361697

2. Shri Stalin Mobile No:9446503056

In case of any difficulty the delegates can also contact me, i.e. Varghese John, General Secretary of the Kerala Circle ( Mobile No 09446361793) or Com. D Satheesan (Mob No. 09846032943), President of the Circle.

Once again we whole heartedly welcome all the delegates for the Annual National Convention of our Association at Trivandrum and also expect your full co operation for the success of the same.

Thanking you,

Comradely yours,

VARGHESE JOHN
Gen Secretary, Kerala Circle.
