It  is a national tragedy of mammoth proportions that has recently been witnessed in Uttarakhand. Massive relief operations  are now required there in the aftermath of the devastation caused by the unprecedented  floods.
As a gesture of solidarity to the hapless unfortunate victims of this natural calamity the AICEIA appeals to all employees of the CBEC to contribute one day's salary to the Prime Minister's Relief Fund. We have written to the Chairperson, CBEC requesting to facilitate easy collection and remittance of the amount. A scanned copy of the subject letter is placed below.

News on Cadre Restructuring in CBEC is that progress is sluggish. Joint Secretary (Central Zone ) of the AICEIA Com.Vinod Sharma and other office bearers of the Indore Branch of the Association recently met the Member(P&V), CBEC and in course of the meeting it was informed that the CR proposal approved by Deptt of Expenditure is still with the DoP&T from where it has to move to the Committe of Secretaries. It was also informed that the demand of AICEIA to upgrade all offcers who have completed eight years of service in the grade of Inspectors as Superintendents is being examined. It was also assured that the glaring disparities among different Zones would be decisively and equitably dealt with while implementing the CR.
The President Com A.Revanth and  General Secretary Com. P.V.Satyanarayana  of the Guntur Branch of the AICEIA called on the Hon'ble Minister of State for Finance (Revenue)  Shri Jesudasu Seelam on 23.06.2013 and requested his intervention to expedite approval the CR proposal of  CBEC. The Minister has assured them that the needful is being done.
AICEIA appreciates the efforts made by these comrades in making good use of the opportunities coming their way to pursue our long standing demands.
Trust that members of the Central Executive Committee of the AICEIA have made travel arrangements for the Meeting at Shimla on 27th and 28th of July'13.  All Circle/ Branch Secretaries are requested to  prepare the information called for in the Circular and send the same well within the stipulated time and also any Resolutions proposed to be moved by them in the CEC meeting.
